It’s that time of the year again, when we ask you to bring down your old Christmas trees and reuse them to help stabilise our sand dunes on the Fylde Coast! Come on down and help us bury those loveable firs in the dunes between the 4th and 6th February! Christmas trees are a fantastic practical (and free!) resource for our project. Christmas keeps on giving into the New Year for residents of Lytham and St Anne’s as we bury recycled Christmas trees to build up the local sand dunes!
Come on down and help us on Tuesday 4th, Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th February 2020, anytime from 10am to 3pm. We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help us dig trenches for the trees, to partially bury the Christmas trees and to cut branches to use as thatching on our chestnut paling fencing. There’s something for everyone to do and all ages and capabilities are welcome! They’ll provide all of the equipment and light refreshments on the day. Volunteers just need to have sturdy footwear and lots of warm clothing! If volunteers could also bring a mug/cup with them for a warm drink, it would be appreciated to reduce the amount of paper compostable cups used.
Meeting places for the planting – North Beach Car Park, Clifton Drive North, St Anne’s, Lancashire, FY8 2TR. For more information regarding our Christmas tree planting event please email Amy Pennington, Fylde Sand Dunes Officer, contact firstname.lastname@example.org
If you cannot make the event, but still wish to donate a tree, then please drop it off at North beach car park or arrange a doorstep collection from Trinity Hospice (https://just-helping.org.uk/find-a-collection/trinity-hospice-blackpool/)
