Snowdrop Season Starts Saturday 1st February
In February Lytham Hall welcomes the return of 9 million snowdrops that show their heads at the parkland of Lytham Hall. From Saturday 1st February to Sunday 23rd February the famous snowdrop season will be in full swing. It’s renowned as the most impressive in the North West. Swathes of this stunning flower adorn our historic parkland indicating that Spring is around the corner.
Visit them for a wander among the snowdrops, highlighted by frames for a picture-opportunity. For children there is a “find the fairy” trail along the way, which is included in the entry price. Entry to the parkland these February weekends is £3 per adult and 50p for children.
What can you expect when you visit? A picturesque trail through the grounds, highlighted on your trail map, a fairy trail for the children, Animal Hub, Lytham Hall Antiques and reclamation, Friends of Lytham Hall Bric a Brac and bookshop and our excellent cafe to have lunch or a hot drink. The Leafy Lytham Garden Hub will also be open for all your Spring needs – why not purchase some snowdrops to take home with you! £1 from each purchase is donated to the Friends of Lytham Hall. On Saturdays and Sundays in February the Georgian Hall is open for guided tours at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm where you can explore this fascinating treasure house and learn about the colourful Clifton family – reduced priced tour price is £5 for adults and free for accompanying children. They also have knowledgeable volunteers who will give a free guided outside tour, at 1pm from outside the Cafe on Sundays.
Grounds are open from 10.00am until 4.30pm. Please be advised these weekends are car free, with parking off site, except for disabled blue badge holders.
The income from the snowdrop fundraising season is instrumental for the sustainability of Lytham Hall, which relies on visitor spending and volunteer help as there is no regular external funding.
