A challenging 18 hole par 3 Mini Links golf course, a fabulous 18 hole Putting Green and an entertaining 9 hole Crazy Golf on St Annes South Promenade opposite with fantastic views across the Ribble Estuary. There’s no restrictions on clothing, age or ability, so the Mini Links is a great venue to tweak your short game or hit your first ever golf shot.

This is a privately owned house on the coast road, mid way between St Anne’s and Lytham but it was the last house that George Formby MBE lived in before his death in 1961. Well loved comedian Les Dawson lived in the area for many years before he passed away in 1993. Adjacent to St Anne’s Pier, you’ll find the Peace and Happiness Garden where there’s a wonderful statue of Les, made by Graham Ibbeson – who also sculpted the Eric Morecambe statue, located on Morecambe Promenade. On 9th Dec 1886, the barque ‘Mexico of Hamburg’ was travelling from Liverpool to South America when it was caught in a fierce storm. Lifeboats from Southport (the Eliza Fernley), Lytham (the Charles Biggs) and St Annes (the Laura Janet), responded to the distress signals. All on board the Mexico were rescued by the Lytham lifeboat. All but two of the Eliza Fernley were lost and the entire crew of the St Annes crew (Laura Janet) perished at sea. In total 27 Lifeboat men lost their lives that night. On 23rd May 1888 the Lifeboat Monument was unveiled near the Pier in St Annes to commemorate the bravery of these crews

The new RNLI Shannon lifeboat Barbara Anne arrived in February 2018 and is based at the RNLI lifeboat station on the Promenade adjacent to the Island complex. There’s a shop at the lifeboat station if you wish to pop in and support the great work of this life saving service.

Founded in 1886, the present course was constructed in 1897. The Clubhouse celebrated its Centenary in 1998 and it is one of the premier links courses in the world, host to eleven Open Championships, two Ryder Cups and numerous other major tournaments including the Women’s and Seniors Open Championships and the Walker Cup in 2015. The Men’s Senior Open sponsored by Rolex returns in 2019.

In 2018, the club was the first venue to host final qualifying for both the Open Championship and Ricoh Women’s British Open in the same year. The club will continue to host Open Final Qualifying in 2019 – 2021, and in 2019 is also a qualifying venue for the Seniors Open which will be held at nearby Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club.

St Annes pool is open from 6:30am weekdays (slightly later at weekends) and a variety of sessions are available (check times prior).
