You Loved Them For A Reason. Now, for the first time, you can see this sensational new musical and relive one of the world’s biggest ever boybands. THE OSMONDS: A new musical tells the official story from Jay Osmond about the five brothers from Utah who were pushed into the spotlight as children and went on to create smash hits decade after decade.
From their star residency on The Andy Williams Show, to the arrival of Donny and Marie, The Osmonds lived a remarkable life recording chart topping albums, selling out vast arena concerts and making record breaking TV shows – until one bad decision cost them everything.
Directed by Shaun Kerrison and choreographed by Olivier Award winning Bill Deamer, this brand new musical features a chart topping list of anthems including Love Me For A Reason, Crazy Horses, Let Me In, Puppy Love, One Bad Apple, Long Haired Lover From Liverpool, Paper Roses and many more, THE OSMONDS: A new musical will take you back to the relive 60s…the 70s…the 80s….
We’re Having a Party and you’re invited to join us for this night of drama, nostalgia and dancing in the aisles.
From their star residency on The Andy Williams Show from 1962 to 1969, to pop stars and ‘Osmondmania’ from 1971 to 1975, to the arrival of The Donny & Marie Show, a popular variety TV show, from 1976 to 1979, The Osmonds lived a remarkable life recording chart-topping albums, selling out vast arena concerts and making record-breaking TV shows – until one bad decision cost them everything.
Jay Osmond said, “I’ve wanted to tell my story for such a long time and the opportunity to create this beautiful musical, a sort of ‘living autobiography’, seemed the perfect way to do so. I spent my whole life performing live – on stage, on TV specials, in arenas – so the buzz of live theatre felt like the perfect place for me. There were some difficult times of my life, and some big hurdles to overcome, and this musical will tell people things that will surprise them… but despite that trouble, when you look back and think of the fans, the music, the once in a lifetime things we did – it’s joyful. I guess I want to do this now to try to spread a little bit of that joy. I’ll know I’ve done a good job telling this story if I stand at the back of the theatre and see people waving their arms in the air, singing along and dancing in the aisles. I just want people to be enjoying themselves. I guess that is in the Osmonds’ DNA.”
The musical features a list of 1970s anthems, including One Bad Apple, Down by the Lazy River, Crazy Horses, Let Me In, Love Me for a Reason, (We’re) Having a Party, Puppy Love, Long Haired Lover From Liverpool, Paper Roses and many more.
The Osmonds have sold over 100 million records worldwide and won 59 Gold & Platinum awards, and now Jay Osmond pulls back the curtain to reveal the real family behind all these hits: parents George and Olive Osmond and their nine children, Virl, Tom, Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie and Jimmy.
THE OSMONDS: A New Musical has a story By Jay Osmond and book by Julian Bigg and Shaun Kerrison, and will be directed by Shaun Kerrison, with choreography and musical staging by Bill Deamer. Full casting is to be announced.
The World Premiere of THE OSMONDS: A New Musical is produced by Royo in partnership with Twins Entertainment, with Vicky Nojesproduktion, Krall Entertainment, Aria Entertainment and Guy James Theatrical.

THE BIGGEST AND BEST LINE UP EVER
Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Lewis Capaldi, Duran Duran and Snow Patrol will headline Lytham Festival 2021.
The stellar line-up is announced as Lancashire’s biggest live music festival prepares to return for what is set to be five unforgettable nights.
Lytham Festival will take place in the Main Proms Arena on Lytham Green from Wednesday 30 June to Sunday 04 July.
And as the full line-up is revealed, five-day passes giving festival-goers access to all nights are on sale now from www.lythamfestival.com
Festival director Peter Taylor said: “We are so incredibly excited to be announcing our full line-up for Lytham Festival 2021.
“Lionel Richie and Diana Ross are two of the world’s most iconic artists, there is no bigger British artist right now than Lewis Capaldi, and in Snow Patrol we have one of the most influential bands of the last 20 years.
“Duran Duran are global superstars. It is no secret that a massive amount of Lytham Festival fans have been asking for them to perform on our lovely Green for more than 10 years, so we can’t wait to welcome them and the whole of this incredible line-up to wonderful Leafy Lytham.”
Motown legend Diana Ross will be the first headline act on Wednesday June 30. The American singer and actress rose to fame as the lead singer of The Supremes, who became Motown’s most successful act during the 1960s and one of the world’s best-selling girl groups of all time. A hugely successful solo career followed and has seen Ross win countless major awards including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, a Golden Globe, a Tony and several American Music Awards.
Opening the show will be a set from Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts, followed by chart-topping Anglo-Italian singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti.
Thursday July 1 will see rapidly rising international star Lewis Capaldi headline the Main Proms Arena. It’s been a meteoric rise for the Scottish singer-songwriter. This year alone has seen his number one single Someone You Loved nominated at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and it then won the 2020 Brit Award of the same title. Earlier this year his single Hold Me While You Wait was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award and Capaldi also won the 2020 Brit Award for Best New Artist.
Supporting Lewis will be a young rising star with up-and-coming blues/rock and roll artist Luke La Volpe.
Indie rockers Snow Patrol are the Friday night headliners. With a 25-year career they have racked up an impressive number of accolades including more than 17 million global album sales and an Ivor Novello award. Their 2006 monster hit single Chasing Cars went on to become UK radio’s most played song of the 21st Century.
Singer-songwriter and musician Jade Bird will open the night for Snow Patrol with Irish rock band Kodaline as the main support act.
Saturday night will see international superstar Lionel Richie headline as he will perform hits from his extensive and much-loved repertoire spanning decades, all the way from the Commodores to the present day. His music is part of the fabric of pop music and Richie has sold more than 125 million albums worldwide and is an Oscar, Golden Globe, and four-time Grammy Awards winner.
Funk and soul icon Craig Charles will open for Richie with a DJ set. Disco legend Gloria Gaynor will then take to the stage before a set from American girl group TLC.
Lytham Festival will close on Sunday July 4 with a headlining set from British music icons Duran Duran. Since first storming onto the pop scene in 1981 Duran Duran have sold more than 100 million records, had 18 American hit singles, 21 UK Top 20 tunes and have continued to perform to huge concert audiences around the world.
Consistently fusing art, technology, fashion and a signature sense of style with their unique and infectious brand of music, singer Simon Le Bon, keyboardist Nick Rhodes, bassist John Taylor and drummer Roger Taylor have proven themselves timeless.

Special guests for Duran Duran are yet to be announced.
Peter Taylor added: “Live music and entertainment is part of the beating heart of the UK and we plan to make Lytham Festival bigger and better than ever before for 2021.
“We have a line-up filled with world-class artists and really cannot wait for June 30th when can all celebrate together and return to Lytham Green.”

RESCHEDULED FROM 2020
TICKETS ARE VALID FOR 2021
A brand-new Lytham Proms concert is being launched for 2020 with ALL money raised being gifted to historic Lytham Hall.
Lytham Festival organisers Cuffe and Taylor have decided to move their traditional Proms finale from Lytham Green to the picturesque parkland of the Grade 1 Georgian mansion.
Early bird tickets are just £25 and all money from ticket sales will be donated by Cuffe and Taylor to the continued restoration of Lytham Hall.
The move marks the start of a new era for Lytham Proms and promises to bring all the pomp and circumstance of a traditional picnic proms event. The full line-up will be announced in early 2020 and will be a mixture of classical and crossover with a full supporting company and orchestra.
Cuffe and Taylor director Peter Taylor said: “Lytham Festival continues to grow every year and following our 10th anniversary celebrations this year we’ve decided to make some exciting changes for 2020.
“There would be no Lytham Festival without the original Lytham Proms and of course the very valued support of the people of Lytham and the wider Fylde coast.
“Therefore, we have decided to gift our popular proms event to Lytham Hall and we believe this will be the beginning of an exciting new partnership with this beautiful venue.
“People asked how we planned to ‘top’ the 2019, 10th Anniversary. We therefore decided to take a fresh approach and see how we could give something back to Lytham.
“Ultimately we want everyone to have an extremely enjoya
ble time and of course raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for this historic Lytham landmark. We are 100% underwriting the costs of the event in year one, so that 100% of each ticket can be donated to the charity and go directly to Lytham Hall’s ring-fenced restoration fund – The Lytham Hall Appeal.”
The new Lytham Proms event will stand alone from Lytham Festival which will continue to take place on Lytham Green. The dates for 2020 are Wednesday July 1 to Sunday July 5 and plans are being finalised to announce the headline acts in the next few weeks.
As well as the new Lytham Proms, Lytham Hall boasts a busy calendar and hosts a number of high-profile events throughout the year to raise money for its continued upkeep.
The Hall is managed by the Heritage Trust for the North West and all money raised from Lytham Proms will be used for further restoration and projects at the heritage venue.
General manager Peter Anthony said: “Lytham Hall is thrilled to play host to the exciting new Lytham Proms event. The team are deeply moved by Cuffe and Taylor’s generosity in helping this great local asset, which the community use and love so much.
“Lytham hall is the only Grade 1 listed building in the entire borough of Fylde therefore it is of huge local and national significance. Our aim and objectives are to ensure the Hall can be maintained, restored and open for generations to enjoy. This event will go a long way in helping us to achieve our goals.”
Lytham Hall was the ancestral home of the Clifton family for more than 350 years. It is now run by a conservation trust which is helped locally by more than 230 volunteers. The Hall has around 16 staff and is also supported by the “Friends of Lytham Hall” who raise funds all year round.
Allan Oldfield, Chief Executive of Fylde Borough Council, added: “This initiative demonstrates a real commitment to the Lytham community, providing the opportunity for local people to enjoy the traditional proms with Lytham Hall as the back-drop, but more than that, by donating all the income from the tickets direct to the Hall, with every penny contributing to the refurbishment and improvement of the Grade 1 listed historic asset, local people are making a huge contribution to the local community.”

Blackpool’s annual Illuminations display is to be extended by two months for a second consecutive year.
VisitBlackpool announced today that the Illuminations season will start on Friday 3 September and run until Monday 3 January, 2022.
The two-month extension is intended to give the resort’s hard-hit tourism industry an added boost with the COVID-19 pandemic expected to cause further disruption over the first few months of the year.
It was also revealed today that the winter extension will be complemented by a significantly enhanced, resort-wide Christmas offer.
Cllr Gillian Campbell, Cabinet Member for Tourism & Culture for Blackpool Council, said: “Although last year’s extension was disrupted by tier restrictions and a second lockdown, all of the evidence showed that there was a huge appetite for the public to visit the Illuminations in a safe and enjoyable way.
“We know from the all of the positive feedback that we received that, amid so much gloom, the Illuminations provided a much-needed tonic to so many people.
“We are making this decision early so that our businesses can start to plan for the extended season. At the same time, we are planning a comprehensive package of themed shows, events and attractions to give visitors plenty of reasons to come to Blackpool over the festive season.”
More details about the Christmas offer will be revealed in the coming weeks. It has already been announced that Friends Festive Live will be coming to the Winter Gardens for two weeks in November and that Strictly judge Shirley Ballas will star in the Cinderella panto at the Opera House in December.
Plans for the annual Illuminations Switch-On ceremony on Friday 3 September will also be unveiled over the coming months. Last year, the event was presented as a virtual show in association with MTV with seven of the UK’s Corona Heroes pulling the famous switch.

The event is entirely weather dependant of course and the planned programme may change at short notice due to operational constraints or weather conditions. Please note a dog exclusion zone exists either side of St Annes pier and is clearly marked, but you can watch the display with your four legged friend from the Promenade. Additional parking provision and traffic management will be in place.
Once more information is available on the planned programme we will post it here and the event is of course entirely weather dependant and please note therefore that timings and the planned flying programme may be subject to change for reasons of safety.

More experiences include ringing Phoebe’s bell outside the mall and re-enacting the iconic Thanksgiving floating heads scene. Fans can also channel their inner Monica and Ross as they grab a picture at the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Disco.
FriendsFestive will also give visitors the chance to check out Monica’s apartment, Joey and Chandlers’ and Central Perk, all dressed for the holiday season.
And get your Thanksgiving pants at the ready as there will be themed food stalls and Christmas cocktails as well as brand new and exclusive FriendsFestive merchandise.
Guests will also be able to kick back and relax while watching some of the best seasonal moments from the greatest TV show of all time.
FriendsFestive will park up its sleigh in Blackpool Winter Gardens from 5th – 19th Nov 2021, before bringing the snowy celebration to Truman Brewery in East London from 25th Nov – 19th Dec 2021.
Fans will also be given the chance to pre-order some brand-new 2021 merch when they buy their ticket, to make sure they bag their favourite FriendsFestive goodies before they sell out!
Michael Williams, Managing Director of the Winter Gardens said: “We are delighted to be bringing a taste of one of the best-loved TV series of all time to Blackpool next year.
“FriendsFestive promises to be the perfect start to the Christmas season and we can’t wait for it to open in the home of entertainment.”
Last year, tickets sold out quickly, so fans are urged to book fast to avoid disappointment.
