The Fairhaven Podcast

The Fairhaven Lake Podcast is a new audio journey around Fairhaven Lake. It is created by Theatre Maker Sophia Hatfield, Sound Artist Karen Lauke and Stute Theatre, the team that brought you ‘The Fairhaven Story Stall’.
Featuring interviews with members of the local community, memories of the lake’s past and audio storytelling by Sophia Hatfield and Patrick Bridgman; this podcast will transport you to Fairhaven Lake and celebrate its rich history.
Four episodes will explore the lake’s boating history, nature, love stories and childhood tales, with music and audio recordings and sounds from the lake.
Episode 1 – Boating
Episode One celebrates the joy of messing about on boats! Sailing, boating, rowing and floating! Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just dipping your toe in the water, listen in for tales of Fairhaven’s rich boating heritage.
This podcast is created by Theatre Maker Sophia Hatfield, Sound Artist Karen Lauke and Stute Theatre. It features narration by Patrick Bridgman and Sophia Hatfield and is supported by National Lottery Heritage Funding.

Episode 2 – A Home For Nature
In 2019 Stute Theatre created ‘The Fairhaven Story Stall’, an original theatre show celebrating stories and memories from Fairhaven Lake. This brand new podcast shares real the interviews and stories behind this piece, with original music, interviews & audio recordings.
Episode Two reflects on the wildlife and nature at Fairhaven Lake, featuring interviews and beautiful natural soundscapes. The wildlife of Fairhaven has many stories to tell. Tales of bird watching and wildflower spotting, day-tripping and mud dipping! Hear wildlife rescue tales and memories of the lake through different seasons.
