Under the skilful direction of Paul Lomax, Award Winning Fylde Coast Players bring a brand new adaptation of The Good Life to Lytham.
When Tom and Barbara Good decide to exchange the pressures of the rat race for an alternative, more sustainable way of living, they set about turning their suburban home in Surbiton into a model of self-sufficiency. They grow their own fruit and veg, keep livestock in the garden, make their own clothes, and even generate their own electricity from manure.
It’s the good life for them – but not for Margo and Jerry Leadbetter, who live next door, and are desperately trying to maintain the Surbiton status quo.
Jeremy Sams’ stage play, based on the hugely popular sitcom by John Esmonde and Bob Larbey, reunites the well-loved characters (not forgetting Geraldine the goat) as they get themselves into and out of scrapes – some old, some new, all hilarious!
Director Paul Lomax explains, “Tapping into issues that resonate now more than ever, The Good Life is a witty reimagining of a television classic, with a wellyful of laughs that’s sure to delight Lytham audiences.
This amateur production is presented by permission of Nick Hearne Books

Arguments and poo! Sex and swearing! Blood, sweat, tears and giant rabbits! Life on the set of Teletubbies might not have been quite as you imagined… Fresh from sell-out shows at Edinburgh Fringe, Confessions of a Teletubby lifts the lid on what went on behind the scenes of one of the most globally successful TV shows ever. Nikky Smedley played LaaLaa (the yellow one) in the original series of Teletubbies for six years – that’s a lot of custard for a grown woman to get excited about. Come and hear how she got the job by dressing as a bistro table; what it was really like inside one of those (surprisingly large) Tubby suits; how the NooNoo really worked and why children loved the show so much

My Beautiful Laundrette, a Theatre Nation Partnerships production produced by Curve is coming to The Grand Theatre, Blackpool.
“Could anyone in their right mind call this silly little island off of Europe their home?”
Based on Hanif Kureishi’s iconic and Oscar-nominated screenplay and last brought to the stage in 2019 directed by Nikolai Foster, My Beautiful Laundrette is set in London during the Thatcher years and tells the story of young British Pakistani, Omar, who transforms his Uncle’s run-down laundrette into a thriving business. After being confronted by a fascist gang, Omar recognises school friend Johnny and uses their history to diffuse the situation. As they renovate the laundrette together, love blossoms between them.
This culture clash comedy is also a subversive work of social realism, sprinkled with magic and joy running through the rich veins of Kureishi’s writing. This bold production of Kureishi’s ground-breaking film, directed by Nicole Behan, explores cultural conflict, gender equality, class and generational strife, all presented against a funky backdrop of 80s music and culture with additional original music composed by the Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe.

Event Details
Ibiza Anthems with Judge Jules, Yomanda and Jason Fubar Judge Jules is one DJ that has been there, done it, and done it all again. For almost three decades Judge Jules has led the way in the world of dance music. Since kicking off his career behind the decks in 1987, Judge Jules has ticked every box, as a DJ, producer, promoter, A&R, radio presenter, taste-maker and, more recently, a music specialist lawyer. Widely recognised for influencing an entire generation with residencies on both Kiss FM and BBC Radio 1, to this day the Judge continues to be on the playlists of millions with his weekly radio show The Global Warm Up, which notches up 750,000 downloads every week via his podcast and is broadcast on over 80 stations around the world. As a pioneer of the club scene, his passion and persona behind the decks coupled with crowd connection and unrivalled track selection has earned Judge Jules a hardcore fanbase and unforgettable sets week-in week-out at the world’s most iconic clubs and festivals, including the UK’s Gatecrasher, Ministry of Sound, Global Gathering and Creamfields, as well as in countless overseas countries. Jules’ presence and reputation in Ibiza is legendary. His famous brand, Judgement, is the longest standing DJ residency in Ibiza history. Spending 16 years as a weekly party, 2017 saw Judgement take a breather before returning to the island with several events in 2018. Phases come and go, genres are born and laid to rest in the blink of an eye, but one thing is for certain… The Judge won’t budge. Yomanda is an alias for Northern Irish DJ/music producer Paul Masterson, also known as being one part of Hi-Gate amongst many other pseudonyms is originally from Belfast and now living in London. Masterson’s success so far has culminated in every major record label snapping him up, where he has gained 18 Top 30 hits in the UK including iconic tracks such as, Synth & Strings, You’re free and Sunshine to name a few. Remixing and high quality production work for Kylie Minogue, Hed Kandi, Armand Van Helden and the internationally renowned Amen UK and the Euro dance outfit Candy Girls gained a string of international chart success. Collaborations with Boy George and Jeanie Tracy, resulted in the musical hits ‘We Need Love’, ‘Grateful’, ‘Out of Fashion’ and ‘Poverty’. Jason Fubar has been crafting his trade since 1990 when the Birth of Dance Music exploded in the UK. For over 30 years he has been at the forefront of Electronic Dance Music, playing across the planet and holding down residencies at some of the UK’s greatest ever clubs such as Syndicate in Blackpool, Ministry of Sound in Bangkok and Gatecrasher as well as touring across the globe. He was resident DJ at the mighty MCM in Majorca for a 6 year period in the 1990’s. Now into his 50’s he owns Fubars Rum Bar in Blackpool and still promotes his own festival brand ‘Back To The Old Pool’. He will be opening the evening at 7.00pm.

The Coral The Making Of The Debut Album: An Intimate Evening of music and conversation with singer James Skelly and keyboardist Nick Power The Coral are celebrating the 21th anniversary of their eponymous debut album. The record was described by NME as being the funniest and most refreshing British debut in years. In this intimate evening, singer and songwriter James Skelly will be joined by keyboardist Nick Power for an evening of conversation, audience questions and acoustic songs. The Coral’s eponymous debut remains a totemic release. Sonically unique, wilfully leftfield and thrillingly eclectic, The Coral combined psychedelia with dub, disco groove with pop and ragtime with Egyptian reggae on a remarkable debut that has proved to be timeless. Twenty-one years on, that records still sounds as fresh and remarkable as it did when it was released on 29th July 2002.

Popular character, Stick Man, based on the children’s picture book written by Julia
Event Details
Popular character, Stick Man, based on the children’s picture book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, features in a new free activity trail officially launched at Ridgeway Farm, Blackpool on Friday 29th March 2024, which will encourage children to get outdoors and explore the natural world.
The launch event will feature Stick Man Trail activities such as: creating your very own Stick Man; making a nest; searching for mini beasts and regular readings of Stick Man to mark World Book Day.
Ridgeway Farm, Blackpool was chosen to host the trail as part of a nationwide scheme supported by Stick Man brand owner Magic Light Pictures and Social Farms & Gardens, a charity which promotes land-based activities that encourage learning and improved well-being.
The self-guided trail offers an interactive learning experience for three to seven year olds and has been designed to help children go on their own adventure with the character. Brightly coloured boards featuring Stick Man and other characters from the picture book will be used alongside an activity pack, with children able to claim a Stick Man Trail Certificate for completing the trail.
Farmer Helen, from Ridgeway Farm said: “Learning about nature and the environment and creating community resources are very important parts of what we do here, so we’re thrilled that we can host a trail at our site. Stick Man is extremely popular with young children, so being able to have this trail is a real boost. We’re expecting lots of interest from regular visitors and hopefully some new visitors, who will be able to find out more about the work we do here.”
The trail is part of a unique national project devised by Social Farms & Gardens, which uses the Stick Man character to help thousands of parents and young children ‘twig’ just how much fun learning through nature can be. There are more than 2,500 social farms and gardens in the UK, which do great work in helping transform people’s lives and the places where they live.
Social Farms & Gardens said: “Modern life sometimes means children don’t always have access to the countryside or regular opportunity to play and learn outdoors. We hope that the trail at Ridgeway Farm, Blackpool will inspire young children and their families to go on their own outdoor adventure with Stick Man, where they can have fun, as well as learn more about the natural world and how things grow.

Reginald Rose’s gripping courtroom thriller stars Jason Merrells (Casualty, Emmerdale), Gray O’Brien (Coronation Street, Peak Practice), Tristan Gemmill (Coronation Street, Casualty), Michael Greco (EastEnders), Ben Nealon (Soldier Soldier) and Gary Webster (Minder, Family Affairs), alongside an all-star ensemble.
Twelve Angry Men has been hailed ‘the classiest, most intelligent drama playing on the West End’. It brings the 1957 three-time Academy Award-nominated film, considered one of the great ‘must-sees’ of all time, to the stage.
A jury has murder on their minds and a life in their hands as they decide the fate of a young delinquent accused of killing his father. But what appears to be an open and shut case soon becomes a huge dilemma, as prejudices and preconceived ideas about the accused, the trial, and each other turn the tables every which way, until the nail-biting climax…

Told from a child’s perspective, balancing heart and humour, The Boy at the Back of the Class highlights the power of friendship and kindness in a world that doesn’t always make sense and reminds us that everyone needs a place to call home.
There used to be an empty chair at the back of the class, but now a new boy called Ahmet is sitting in it. He’s nine years old (just like me), but he’s very strange. He never talks and never smiles and doesn’t like sweets – not even lemon sherbets, which are my favourite!
After learning that he has fled his own war-torn country, Ahmet’s classmates have ‘The Greatest Idea in the World’ – a magnificent plan to reunite Ahmet with his family. An unexpected and often hilarious adventure follows all topped off with a terrific twist.

Event Details
The D-Day landings of 6th June 1944 was the largest seaborne invasion in history. Along with the associated airborne operations, it marked the beginning of the liberation of France and western Europe.
Unprecedented coordination between Allied nations, and the intensive planning of engineers, meteorologists, logisticians and countless more, led to a force from 13 countries approaching Normandy in a 5000-vessel armada.
In the early hours of D-Day, 24,000 paratroopers and glider-borne troops landed behind German lines to provide tactical support. Massive naval and aerial bombardments attempted to supress the German defences and weaponry. Then a ground force of more than 130,000 troops came ashore on five beaches across a 50-mile stretch of Normandy coast, with the first waves often facing intact defences. By the end of D-Day there had been 10,000 allied casualties. Yet this was only the beginning. The ensuing Battle of Normandy was to last into August and cost tens of thousands of lives as it defeated and repulsed the occupying German forces eastwards. It was a decisive success for the Allies and paved the way for the liberation of much of north west Europe.
More details soon on the events at Fairhaven to mark this anniversary. The beacon will be lit at 9:15pm but all other event timings to be confirmed when available.

Shania Twain is a five-time GRAMMY Award-winning legend and one of music and fashion’s most renowned trailblazers. The five-time GRAMMY Award winner will head to the North West’s largest music festival on Thursday July 04 and will be supported by triple BRIT and Ivor Novello Award winner Rag’n’Bone Man.
She remains the top-selling female country pop artist of all time with her hits including Any Man of Mine, That Don’t Impress Me Much, You’re Still the One and Man! I Feel Like A Woman!. Shania was the first artist in history to release three consecutive diamond-certified albums. Most recently, Shania released her sixth full-length album Queen of Me to glowing reviews. Last spring Shania kicked off her sold-out global Queen of Me tour and she will return to Las Vegas this May for her third residency entitled Come On Over!.
Supporting Shania Twain will be Rag’n’Bone Man – aka Rory Graham. Graham rose to prominence in 2016 with the release of the worldwide smash hit Human which showcased a stunning blend of traditional blues, hip-hop and, of course, an incredible and era-defining voice.
Having won the 2017 BRIT’s ‘British Breakthrough Act’ and receiving the BRIT’s ‘Critics’ Choice Award’ in the same year, Graham cemented his success with the record-breaking release of his 4x platinum Number One debut album Human. A plethora of international accolades followed as well as a further BRIT Award for ‘Best Single of the Year’ in 2018 for Human, an Ivor Novello Award for hit single Giant in 2020 and another #1 album: Life By Misadventure, released in 2021. Since his debut, Rag’n’Bone Man has sold out tours worldwide and has collaborated with international artists including The Gorillaz, Logic, Calvin Harris and P!nk.
Friday night (July 05) will see the already announced Manchester-based guitar band Courteeners perform their only North of England headline show of the summer with support from English pop-rock outfit The Kooks and indie pop riser Nieve Ella.
One of the most successful UK bands of recent years, Courteeners are made up of Liam Fray, Michael Campbell and Daniel Moores.
All their albums have gone Top 10 and earlier this year, their 2008 debut album St. Jude reached Number 1 for the very first time with its 15th anniversary edition making it the album with the longest time between release and charting at Number 1 in UK chart history. The band also played their third sold-out 50,000 capacity headline show at Heaton Park in June to celebrate the anniversary of the album.
The Kooks have enjoyed an impressive rise to fame since the release of their debut album, Inside In/Inside Out which reached Number One in the U.K. Album Charts. Since then, they’ve gone on to release five further albums, their most recent last year with 10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark. Continually attracting a new breed of fans, the band have gained countless streams across multiple platforms and embarked on a number of world tours.
Indie pop riser Nieve Ella will open the show. Nieve’s popularity has soared since she first picked up a guitar during lockdown – three years later she has achieved hundreds of thousands of streams and recently supported Inhaler on their UK tour.
Saturday July 06 will see the return of one of Lytham Festival’s most popular artists – Madness.
Pop’s Nutty Boys headlined Lytham back in 2017. In a career spanning five decades they have chalked up 15 UK Top 10 singles – including the timeless Our House, It Must Be Love, One Step Beyond, My Girl, Wings Of A Dove and Baggy Trousers – together with ten Top 10 albums. This month they released Theatre of the Absurd Presents C’est la Vie, their critically acclaimed lucky thirteenth full-length album.
They will be supported by another returning artist – pop icon Rick Astley. It’s 11 years since he performed on Lytham Green and almost 40 years since he first shot to fame, but Rick Astley is now arguably a more prominent force in popular culture than he ever was. Continuing to win the adoration of fans old and new, recent years have seen him perform with Foo Fighters, Take That and Blossoms. Rick recently released his ninth studio album Are We There Yet? and since returning to the Number One spot in 2016 with album 50, he has enjoyed the strongest run of album chart positions of his entire career.
Joining Madness and Rick Astley will be Liverpudlian hitmakers Lightning Seeds. It is 35 years since they first hit the charts and the Lytham audience can expect to singalong to a string of hits including Life of Riley, Lucky You and football anthem Three Lions.
And the closing night of Lytham Festival on Sunday July 07 will see a 2024 UK festival exclusive from indie legends James accompanied by the Orca22 Orchestra and the Manchester Inspirational Voices Choir.
Still every bit as popular, adventurous, melodically gifted and politically eviscerating as ever, this year James marked 40 years with Be Opened By The Wonderful, 20 tracks of some of their most loved and rare tracks, re-imagined with the 22-piece orchestra and eight-piece choir who will grace the stage with them at Lytham Festival with composer and conductor Joe Duddell.
James are one of Britain’s most enduring success stories, having released 16 studio albums, selling more than 25 million copies with their recent run of Top 5 albums proving to be a golden era for the band.
Supporting them in Lytham will be founding member and songwriting genius of The Smiths, superstar collaborator and sensational solo artist in his own right, Johnny Marr.
Quite rightly regarded as a bona fide British music icon, Johnny Marr’s live shows include songs from across his whole career, from classic Smiths and Electronic hits to his lauded and diverse solo work such as fan favourites Easy Money, Night and Day, Spirit, Spiral Cities and Power and Soul.
Joining him in support will be fellow Manchester indie outfit Inspiral Carpets, fan-favourites The Magic Numbers and Liverpudlian four-piece The Kairos.
A vital component of the infamous ‘Madchester’ movement, Inspiral Carpets formed in Oldham in 1980. Known for hit singles including This Is How It Feels, Saturn 5 and She Comes in the Fall, they remain much-loved across the UK. The Magic Numbers are known for their unique harmonies, melodic hooks, songwriting craftsmanship and timeless sound. Their Mercury Prize-nominated self-titled debut album was released in 2005 to outstanding critical acclaim and contained top ten hit singles such as Forever Lost, Love Me Like You and Love is a Game. They will be joined by up-and-coming rock band The Kairos.

Rory is currently preparing for his third album with Columbia Records, kicking off with a second collaborative track with Calvin Harris; ‘Lovers in a Past Life’ will be out and kicking off the summer vibes on February 16.

Event Details
Courteeners will head to Lytham Festival in 2024 for their one and only North of England show of the summer.
The Manchester-based guitar band are the first headliner to be announced as the North West’s biggest live music festival prepares to return for five unforgettable nights from Wednesday 03 to Sunday 07 July.
One of the most successful UK bands of the last 15 years, Courteeners – made up of Liam Fray, Michael Campbell and Daniel Moores – will bring their unmissable show to Lytham Green on Friday July 05.
They will be joined with support from English pop-rock outfit The Kooks and indie pop riser Nieve Ella.
Frontman Liam Fray said: “We are very much looking forward to making our debut and joining the illustrious list of acts that have performed at the Lytham festival. We made the short pilgrimage from Manchester last year to watch The Strokes and were blown away by the buzz of the locals and the beauty of the scenery.
“What a Friday it’s going to be on July 5th. See you down the front, x”
Formed in 2006 and lauded by Q Magazine as one of “the world’s biggest underground acts”, all of Courteeners albums have gone Top 10. Earlier this year, their 2008 debut album St. Jude reached Number 1 for the very first time with its 15th anniversary edition and became the album with the longest time between release and charting at Number 1 in UK chart history. The band also played their third sell out 50,000 capacity headline show at Heaton Park in June to celebrate the anniversary of the album.
Lytham Festival co-founder Peter Taylor added: “Courteeners are without a doubt one of the country’s biggest and best-loved bands.
“This is an exclusive performance for the North of England so if you want to see them next summer you need to head to Lytham Festival.”

Event Details
Joining too will be fellow Manchester indie outfit Inspiral Carpets, fan-favourites The Magic Numbers and Liverpudlian four-piece The Kairos.

The event will once again be hosted by popular BBC Radio Lancashire presenter, Graham Liver, whose wit and charm are always a crowd-pleaser.

2024’s production ‘Eternity’ is a show that has been created by a passion for sport and art that has brought together to reveal the world’s best show figure skaters.
There is a global connection between every performer in this show, that is the joy of gracefully and creatively gliding, spinning, sliding, jumping and being lifted across the ice. Hot Ice truly devours your imagination with its artistry.
The costumes are created with skill and exacting precision so that each costume fits every performer perfectly. Every rhinestone and feather and piece of fabric is cut, sewn and skilfully crafted by our very own Stageworks Worldwide Productions team. Some of whom have a very special insight into the show as they have been special enough to have performed in Hot Ice over the years. It is their spec ial knowledge that helps our skaters perform as they do in these beautifully designed creations.

A partnership between Fylde Council and kite fliers SmileFactor10 with support from St Anne’s Town Council. The fabulous international kite festival returns to St Anne’s on Sea and will feature single line kites of all shapes and sizes, including inflatable octopus, flying cows, stingrays, whales, dogs and even hippos. Plus 2-line and 4-line stunt kites. It is a superb spectacle and the sky fills with plenty of colour and you can marvel at the expertise of kite flyers from the UK and all over the world.
Based either side of St Annes Pier, there will be specially a designated arena – the David Lidstone Arena to the left of the pier, with commentary from the kite fliers about their displays and encouraging you to watch the fabulous spectacle.
The event is entirely weather dependent and the planned programme may change at short notice due to operational constraints or weather conditions. Please note a dog exclusion zone exists either side of St Annes pier and is clearly marked, but you can watch the display with your four legged friend from the Promenade or on the beach in the kite flying zones beyond the dog restriction area.
Planned flying timings:
- Friday 13th – 11am onwards
- Saturday 14th – 11am to 5pm
- Sunday 15th – 11am to 4pm
We urge you to research and use existing car parks in St Annes away from the front as it will be very busy. There will be additional event parking clearly signposted. There are plenty of bus services, plus train link into St Annes on the Sea train station which is approximately 800 yards away from the front.

Clinton Baptiste: Roller Ghoster!
Solo again, Britain’s most celebrated clairvoyant medium psychic from Peter Kay’s ‘Phoenix Nights’ returns with his brand new hilarious one-man stand up show.
As well as venturing into the audience to offer his unique spirit readings, Clinton Baptiste comes armed with more tales from his extraordinary childhood; exposing himself in ways you could never imagine -the family that shaped him, the narrow minded who doubted him and the lovers that left him. He regales us with stories of his recent work on a cruise ship, his spirit readings round the UK and not to mention the day-to-day life with his Greenlandic spirit guide, Taruak.
Brace yourselves – Clinton will prove his mystical ability once and for all. This time, he guarantees you WILL believe!*
*No actual money back if you don’t. It’s not really a legal ‘guarantee’ as such. Look, it’s just an expression, okay?
Laugh, gasp, scream your head off…but whatever you do….strap in and hold tight as Clinton takes you on a rip-roaring ride through the twists and turns of his heady life.
The premier hands- on clairvoyant, medium and a psychic, Clinton is renowned as Britain’s foremost ‘can-do’ guru.

Bill Kenwright Ltd is delighted to announce the triumphant return to the stage of the worldwide sensation Ghost the Musical, touring from August 2024, arriving at the Opera House Blackpool from Tuesday 03 – Saturday 07 December 2024 as part of a major national tour across the UK.
Written by multi Brit Award winner Dave Stewart and Grammy award winning Glen Ballard, with a script by Bruce Joel Rubin based on his OSCAR winning screenplay, Ghost the Musical brings all the romance and magic of the classic story to life on stage.
“Walking back to their apartment late one night,
a tragic encounter sees Sam murdered and his girlfriend Molly alone, in despair and utterly lost. With the help of a phony storefront psychic, Sam, trapped between this world and the next, tries to communicate with Molly in the hope of saving her from grave danger…”
Ghost has cemented its place as one of the most significant successes in cinematic history. Starring the late Patrick Swayze alongside Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg (who won the Oscar for Supporting Actress), the film dominated the box office in 1990 and earned an Oscar for screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin, who has skillfully adapted his screenplay into a musical. Premiering in Manchester in 2011, Ghost the Musical has played sell out seasons in the West End and on Broadway as well as numerous international tours.
A smash hit across the globe, Ghost the Musical features The Righteous Brothers’ Unchained Melody alongside many more terrific songs co-written by Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart.
Ghost the Musical has been adapted by Oscar winning screenwriter Brue Joel Rubin and is directed by Bob Tomson with choreography by Alistair David. Design is by Mark Bailey with lighting design by Nick Richings, sound design by Dan Samson and illusions by Richard Pinner.
