Sporting heroes across the Fylde are set to get their chance to shine as nominations open for the Fylde Sports Awards 2019.

The exciting community awards – now in their 10th year – recognise people, clubs and organisations that go above and beyond in sporting activities and achievements.

Hosted by Fylde Council’s Sports Development Team, there are a total of 10 categories with the deadline for nominations closing on Monday 5th August 2019.

For the first time, the awards are being officially sponsored to help organisers make it the best and most exciting awards ceremony yet.

Miller Homes North West has signed up to be headline sponsor and there are three silver sponsorship opportunities still currently available.

The ceremony will take place at the Glendower Hotel in St Annes on November 8th 2019 with BBC Radio Lancashire’s John Gilmore as compere.

Ian Brookes, Sports Development Officer at Fylde Council, said: “We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Fylde Sports Awards 2019.

“Here on the Fylde, we have a vibrant and successful sporting community – and it would be great to see the hard work, successes and achievements of these people and organisations officially recognised and applauded.

“We would like to encourage as many clubs, organisations and individuals to get involved – you have to be in it to win it!”

The winners of the Fylde Sports Awards go on to represent their district at the Lancashire Sports Awards.
